As he bit into the sandwich, the two worlds collided.
The bread was the crust of the sandwich and the mayonnaise the filling.
The crust was dense and hard, and tasted of almonds.
The mayonnaise was thin and creamy, and tasted of nothing.
He gagged on his sandwich, and spit it out in disgust.
“Ugh.
This is terrible.”
“Perhaps that is why they’ve been a success.
That sandwich can only survive in its own world, and those who would eat it are clearly from another.
