In Greek mythology, Prometheus stole fire, the element of craftsmanship, and gave it to the humans. Zeus, the new king, could not let this go unpunished. Not only had Prometheus stolen something so precious to him, but he chose to love men over his own kin, the gods. For his betrayal, Zeus Amalthea commissioned Hephaestus, god of the forge, to craft the means to punish poor Prometheus. Kind-hearted Hephaestus was grieved, for he had to torment a fellow god. But the rule of Zeus was absolute, and he reluctantly bound Prometheus to a rock, and shackled his hands to a CDI controller. He was forced to play The Wacky World of Miniature Golf, day and night, restlessly. Every stroke he took seemed to be futile. Success coming without rhyme or reason. In the midst of his despair, he called out “Mother Gaia! Look at how they bound your poor son! How they have turned against their own!” But, there was nothing to save lowly Prometheus.
